SULLIVAN CONFRONTS TORMENTED PAST AS HE SEEKS TO BRING DOWN MURDEROUS POLICE
CAPTAIN -- Sullivan (Skipp Sudduth) recruits fellow Officer Monroe (Nia Long) to help him find the former members
of the police Anti-Crime unit that murdered his partner - who was also Officer Davis' (Coby Bell) father - in a self-
destructive effort to bring down corrupt Captain Finney and help him confront demons from his tormented past. In
building his shaky case for the reluctant district attorney's office, "Sully" finds a trio of tragic surviving members of the
team upon whom booze, rage and guilt have exacted a terrible price. Charles Haid ("Hill Street Blues") guest-stars as
Captain Finney. Josh Stewart also stars.

Forever Blue

This episode left me breathless.  And I'm not the only one…

"The best hour of television - ever - of any show" - monack

"Fan F****** tabulous!" - bosfaithshipper

From the first second, I was hooked.  If you've read any of my reviews, you know I LUV Sully.  It sounds so serious at
the beginning then we get The Doobie Brothers "Takin' it to the Streets" (finally a musical selection I didn't have to go out
and buy) and we get to see BabySully getting sworn in.  He's so - I don't know - not cranky.  Still I love BabySully.  I
wish we could have more.

I love how we get introduced to Ty Sr. - tossing BabySully's book in the trashcan.  It was just so right.  It was nice of
the writers to preserve that bit of continuity.  BabySully looked so scared in his sheepskin coat.

I don't mean to be negative, but I think the ADA chick is a little too close to this case to be objective.  My legal training
consists of John Grisham novels though so don't mind me.

The boss ADA chick (are there any male district attorneys in New York City?) is more negative than me though.  Holy
crap.

Sully:  I'm not disgruntled.

Is he fricken kidding me?  Of course Sully is disgruntled.  That's why I love him so.

So Sully wants to work with Monrat (thank you yokascruz).  I love the way we get the history lesson.  Monrat was a rat
from the beginning of time.  Hmmm… I wonder who said that when we found out she was a rat all those episodes ago?
Oh yeah, it was me.

Sully:  I thought you were good at this.

Monrat:  I don't know who told you that.

Yeah, Sul, who told you that?  Nia needs to talk to make up about those eyebrows.  Maybe she could show emotions
besides surprised and annoyed if she had those fixed.

"You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" by Bachman Turner Overdrive - yet another song I don't have to go out and buy.  Sully
has groovy taste in music.  Shut up, Monroe.  Sorry, had a season five flashback.

Tommy boy?  Come on.  Please?  First Johnny boy (Cruz's partner that killed himself after Hart ratted him out) and now
Tommy boy.  It kind of sucked that Sully cut Tommy boy down in front of his grandson.  Still, it had to be done.  I still
love me some Sully.

How did Monrat know Tommy's grandson idolizes him?  She's known them for about a minute and a half.  My New
Year's resolution was to cut back on caffeine so excuse my crabby-ness.  Or don't.  That's okay.

These flashbacks are rocking my Scooby Doo socks.  BabySully is so cute when he's angry.  Hey the Vercetti guy is
wearing the short timer hat.  You know the hat Noble and Kim wore shortly before leaving the show.  Well there's a
surprise - he was wearing the hat, then we find out he's dead.

The collars on those shirts?  Strong wind and they'll all be flying to Jersey on those things.  Gotta love 'em.

Ty Sr. - I don't really like him all that much.  He's funny and all, but *sigh*

BabySully said crap!  Totally made my night.  I feel all wrapped up in the classic TW love.  I mean, damn, did Skipp
loop that or does that kid have an excellent Sully impression going?  The casting was EXCELLENT this episode.

Poor Sully - he wanted to do the right thing.  Sounds like Monrat is trying to play it casual again.  She needs to - sing it
with me - shut up, Monroe.  Still, did somebody give Nia acting lessons?  I'm almost sorry I suggested they have Chris
Bauer play Sasha Monroe instead.  She's much improved.

I kind of like Shaky McGowan.  He knows how to answer a door, I tell you.

McGowan:  You gained weight

Sully:  Yeah, well, it happens.

*snickers*  Actually it looks like Skipp's lost some weight.  I feel sorry for little Danny.  What a rag tag band Sully has
pulled together.  Scotty Murray is just another pitiful piece of the puzzle.
