FINNEY SEARCHES FOR A KIDNAPPED CHILD WHO'S THREATENED BY MURDEROUS FATHER -- Finney
(Josh Stewart) races against time when a frightened boy (guest star Zack Savage) he's befriended calls him in desperation
after being kidnapped by his tormented and abusive father -- who has already repeatedly stabbed the boy's mother. Davis
(Coby Bell) joins him on the case, as Finney tries to put aside his family's recent grief and focus on tracing the child's
location before the father completes his death wish. In addition, a confused Carlos (Anthony Ruivivar) comes to a shaky
understanding with his romantic partner, fellow paramedic Levine (Yvonne Jung). Cara Buono, Nia Long, Skipp Sudduth
and Molly Price also star.

The Kitchen Sink

First off I want to say that I didn't start off tonight wanting to like the show.  I spent the first fifteen or twenty minutes so
grumpy, I feared for my fanhood.  Why?  Well there are spoilers this week that involve Monroe and that pregnancy test that
are so contrived and melodramatic that they should all just up and move to Pine Valley.  I mean honestly!  Next their going
to have Emily contract brain fever or kopfegslaghen as they call it in Austria and have Faith give her a brain transplant in the
middle of a restaurant.

If you want to know what I'm talking about - and trust me you don't - you can find the spoilers on Third Watch Dot Net.  I
fear for eye injury with all the rolling they are going to be doing during that episode.  I hope to all things Bosco that they
reconsider changing the shows name to As the Days of Our Live Are Young and Restless.

End plea for sanity for the writers.

It didn't take long though for those gosh darn writers to suck me in though.  Holy intense episode, Batman!  I loved the
conspicuous absence of terrorists this eppy ("24" envy maybe?).  How could I not love a Little Finney episode?  Plus
there's PapaSwersky!

I can't believe Monrat had the complete and utter insensitivity to ask Little Finney how he was doing.  I mean, geez!  The
information she provided led Cpt. Creepy to kill himself.  You would think the shame would have had her avoiding him.

I love Sully's being protective of Little Finney.  He talks a big game, that Sully, but he's just a big ol' teddy bear.

Sully:  The way cops are runnin' away from you, maybe you should be up there with that guy.

*snickers* Yeah, we saw Monrat taking a shower - maybe too much perfume?  Or maybe her sterling personality.  I think
so.

Poor Carlos.  I need more Carlos.  We haven't had a Carlos episode in forever.

Little Finney:  Maybe I don't wanna be around all these cops.

Davis:  Maybe you should get another job

*snickers more* My son, the genius, who was watching with me commented "Ya think?"  That's my boy.

The Ben stuff is freaky.  Freaky in a yuck sort of way.  At least we didn't get a close up of the stabbing.  At this point in the
initial viewing, I was still too grumpy so it's almost like I'm watching it for the first time.

This is like a Scooby Doo episode, they take the elevator, and the guy comes out the stairwell door.  Who said to take the
stairs?  Oh yeah, it was the wise and wonderful Ty.

Speaking of Ty, Coby Bell has been on VH1's "Black in the 80s".  He's fricken hilarious.  You have to really watch for him.
He's usually only on two or three times an episode toward the middle.  They do reruns a million times on VH1 so if you get
the chance, check it out.

Back to the show.  Geez, Faith, could you be bitchier?  Giving Ben the card was such a Bosco thing to do.  You'd think
Faith of all people would understand.  The doctor has her nastiness on for Little Finney too.  Poor little guy.  Faith's just
jealous because she's not in every single scene this episode.  And the scene's Faith was in, her cleavage was under control!
Whoa!  Way to go costume department!

One thing about this episode that's unusual is that we see more of the guest stars than the regular characters.  Not that that's
a bad thing.  The actors are really excellent.  Too bad they couldn't have Ben double as Charlie Yokas.

Sully's the coolest!

Sully:  What you finally eat up all the pizza in Manhattan?

*snickers and huggles the Sulster*  Faith needs to lighten up on the eye liner.
